The Percentage Calculator calculator family — including vatcalculator.uk, agecalculator.co.uk, and maths-help.co.uk — is reviewed in-house by a business analyst against current published UK data (HMRC, ONS, Ofgem, Land Registry, NS&I, Bank of England). Each calculator cites its source and retrieval date.

Editorial standards

Each calculator includes (a) the formula in plain English, (b) at least three worked examples in pounds with current UK figures, (c) a methodology block explaining the calculation and any simplifying assumptions, and (d) sources with retrieval dates.

Tax-related figures use 2026/27 thresholds where applicable. Scotland-specific income tax bands are not modelled by default (England/Wales/NI rates apply unless stated). The site is general guidance and not regulated advice — for personal tax or financial decisions, speak to a qualified adviser.
