Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the percentage off a price?
Multiply the original price by (1 − discount ÷ 100). For 20% off £80: 80 × (1 − 0.20) = 80 × 0.80 = £64. The amount saved is the original minus the sale price (£16).
How much do I save with a 25% discount?
Multiply the original price by 0.25. For 25% off £120, you save £30 and pay £90. For 25% off £200, you save £50 and pay £150.
Are stacked discounts the same as their sum?
No. 50% + 20% ≠ 70% off. It's 50% off, then 20% off the new price = 60% off original.
What VAT applies to sale items?
Same as full price. UK standard VAT 20% included in retail prices.
